BenMar Farm is a small Irish Draught and Irish Draught Sport Horse breeding operation dedicated to preserving the finest qualities of the Irish Draught while producing the ultimate equine athlete.

We are located in the beautiful rolling bluegrass hills of Goshen, a small community outside of Louisville, KY, where we are surrounded by some of the top thoroughbred farms in the country.

SYNERGISTIC BREEDING PROGRAM

Quality, not quantity is our focus. The strength of our highly successful breeding program is built upon our ability to "niche" the appropriate sire to our mares that will produce a foal superior to both sire and dam. This niching process is three-fold. First, we start with excellent mares that not only have outstanding confirmation and movement, but also possess that intangible quality of presence. Secondly, any insignificant flaw must be strengthened by either stallion or mare. Finally and most importantly, the selected stallion must possess the same exceptional qualities of our mare. This final step ensures foal superiority and is the key to cement these characteristics for future generations. This process is known as the Synergistic Effect, whereby 1 + 1 = 3. Our ultimate goal at BenMar Farm is a synergistic breeding program.
